S-Gear Conveyor System
The S-Gear™ system has been developed in response to changes in the Materials handling industry moving to larger capacity conveyor systems. In the case of extending/retreating conveyor systems requiring mobility to regularly install and remove the structure, this has resulted in component weights increasing beyond reasonable handling capacities.
The “S-Gear” ™ system combines two aspects of hazard control through design to reduce the potential risks, namely removal of the requirement to manually handle the structure by providing mechanical assistance, and secondly in applications where this is not possible, reduction of component weight as far as practicable to allow safe & simple installation.
Terminals including Drive heads, booster drives and Jib transfers are designed utilising the the latest 3D modelling software, simplifying Structural FEA, optimising maintainability, and enabling Discreet element modelling of transfer flows. Our teminals can be provided for any specified drive type including CST, TPKL/Scoop VVVF drive and fixed fill fluid systems, ranging in power up to 4MW
Loop Take-Ups & Winches
MCE can provide belt tensioning systems for surface and underground conveyor systems in multiple configurations to meet the needs of the application. We offer engineered winch solutions through the use of Gravity / Counterweight systems, dynamic VVVF drives, through to basic manual drive. Loop Take ups are supplied with multi lap belt storage for retracting systems or single lap tensioning for fixed installations.
MCE design, manufacture and overhaul all conveyor pulleys, in accordance with Australian design standards and site specifications, using the highest quality material and components to meet the highest expectations for reliability in the field. All work is conducted under a QA system meeting the requirements of ISO9001/2008. All welding conforms to AS1554 with macro and ultrasonically tested welding procedures in place.
DD Series Development Drives
This series of portable conveyor drives is designed in modular fashion allowing maximum configuration flexibility, simple installation and high equipment availability. Drives are available from 50KW to 350KW with either single or dual drive. They can provide development conveying up to 4kmwith low grade lift.
Electrical Design & Manufacture
We offer the capability to provide a complete electrical package from panel design through to on site commissioning for conveyor systems and other industrial equipment. We have designed and manufactured conveyor belt starters, VVVF winch controllers, pump controllers, distributed control panels, remote solar powered monitoring stations and provided site commissioning support for complex conveyor systems.

Belt Handling Equipment is a key area of interaction in underground retracting & extending systems. MCE have belt reelers, and Belt Maintenance station , and belt winder designs.

Designed and fabricated for the Underground Coal market, the team at MCE have ploughed hours of hard work in developing the "Jibaroo" in its Mackay QLD based facility. Nothing to hang from the roof, limited working at heights required for install, an incorporated de-watering screen and utilizing hydraulics to control the movement are just some of the benefits the "Jibaroo" can offer to its users.
